What is Pilates?
Pilates is named after its inventor, Joseph Pilates, who formulated the exercises in the 1920's. There are 34 original Pilates movements. As well as matwork, there are also equipment-based routines that encompass more than 500 exercises.
Pilates is unique in that it will systematically exercise all the muscle groups in your body, the weak as well as the strong. It combines the focus of suppleness that you find in yoga with the emphasis on strength building found in the gym. It is total body conditioning that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk. It focuses primarily on the ‘Powerhouse,’ or deepest abdominal muscles, and works the rest of the body from this core connection. Through regular sessions on both the mat and specialized Pilates apparatus, clients seek to develop an equal balance between abdominal and lower back musculature to improve strength, stretch, stamina and stability. Over time, this approach creates a strong foundation from which one can achieve new heights of physical fitness and control, as well as emotional well-being and balance.

Our apparatus and mat work sessions utilize a full line of equipment including: reformer, combo chair, magic circles, stability balls and flexbands.

Our Personal Training workouts include a combination of strength and cardiovascular fitness that will burn fat and sculpt muscle at the same time. Power, strength, stamina and stability will all improve. Our goal is to make workouts fun so you'll want to make exercise a life long habit. We use many tools such as weights, bosu and stability balls, your own body weight and really anything that is in our surrounding environment including benches, steps and sand pits. If you don't know where or how to begin your next workout or have found yourself in a rut this is the workout for you.
We offer a variety of packages to meet your fitness and financial needs.
Private (55 min) - one-to-one instruction, providing focused attention to the client's needs and goals. We recommend 10 Privates before progressing onto Semi-Private instruction. |

CANCELLATIONS - must be made with at least a 24 hour notice to avoid being charged for the scheduled sessions. Please be on time for your session. LATE APPOINTMENTS - Clients are expected to be in at the exact time of their appointment - no additional time will be added to make up for the belated appearance in the studio.
